Winners of Festival’s 2020 exhibits contest announced

The Florida Strawberry Festival announced today the winners of its annual exhibits contest. Each year, every exhibit including outside concessions, civic clubs, educational exhibits, arts and crafts, and others are judged on decoration and overall presentation. “We encourage all of our guests to visit the grounds to see all the festival has to offer,” said Florida Strawberry Festival President Paul Davis. “Our vendors and concessionaires are a tremendous part of our event.”   Click here to read the...

Adult Stemming Contest winner announced

The fastest strawberry stemmer on the festival grounds was found yesterday at the annual Adult Strawberry Stemming Contest in the Stingray Chevrolet Entertainment Tent. Diana Anderson of Lady Lake Florida was declared the winner of the contest where participants compete to determine who can most quickly remove the stems from 25 strawberries. Baby contest winners announced at Florida Strawberry Festival

The Florida Strawberry Festival held its annual baby contest today in the Publix Showcase Tent on the Florida Strawberry Festival grounds. In this event, sponsored by South Florida Baptist Hospital, babies from the Hillsborough County area get dressed up to compete in three different segments of competition: the decorated diaper contest, features contests and the diaper derby, where the fastest crawling baby wins. Grand Parade winners announced at 2020 event

The winning groups in the Florida Strawberry Festival’s Grand Parade were announced today. The Grand Parade, produced by Berry Fine Productions, stretches two miles and draws thousands of viewers from Plant City and the surrounding areas. Youth Plant Sale winners announced at 2020 event

The grand champion plant was chosen this week at the Florida Strawberry Festival’s Youth Plant Show in the Swindle Family Pavilion.     Colton Taylor won grand champion, and Madelien Rosnbrough won reserve grand champion.    The Youth Plant Show is sponsored by Choo Choo Lawn Equipment, Inc. and offers youth in the community an opportunity to raise a plant, enter it into competition, and sell it at the Youth Plant Sale.    Click here to see the full press release....

2020 Strawberry Youth Parade Winners

The Florida Strawberry Festival announced today the winners in its annual Strawberry Youth Parade. The Florida Strawberry Festival hosts the youth parade each year that highlights youth groups, dance studios, school marching bands and other community youth organizations. Other than chaperones, all participants in the youth parade are 18 years of age and under. Floats are decorated to include strawberries and the Florida Strawberry Festival’s current theme. The grand champion at the Florida Strawberry Festival’s Mosaic Youth Swine Show was chosen Friday night. Dakota Grigson, a member of the Strawberry Crest FFA Chapter, exhibited the grand champion swine. Reserve grand champion was awarded to Avery Ashley, a member of the Hillsborough FFA Federation. Exhibitors in the Mosaic Youth Swine Show sold their pigs Friday evening in the Mosaic Youth Swine Sale at the Grimes Family Agricultural Center in the Patterson Companies Livestock Arena. The grand champion pig, exhibited by Dakota Grigson was purchased by Astin Farms for $16 per pound.
