World-Famous Strawberry Shortcake It’s world-famous!

  • St. Clement “Make Your Own” Shortcake Booth – Your choice of cake or buttermilk biscuit, “YOU” then add as much delicious Plant City sliced berries in their juices as “YOU” want. Next, “YOU” add freshly whipped topping as much as “YOU” can, then we top your creation off with a fresh whole “TOPPER” berry to finish “YOUR” creation. Hot and cold beverages and table seating available.  In the middle of the Parke Exhibit Building, next to the Parkesdale Farms booth.
  • Transforming Life Church – Inside the Entenmann’s Strawberry Tent A serving of yellow cake topped with a heaping spoonful of delicious Plant City strawberries and a dollop of whipped topping to finish it off.
  • East Historical Society Shortcake Booth – South of the TECO Expo Hall near Pioneer Village, a sweet yellow cake or southern style buttermilk biscuit, served with sweet or unsweetened fresh strawberries and finished with fresh whipped topping. Beverages include coffee (regular and decaf), Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite and Dasani water.

 

Chocolate Strawberry Shortcake Milkshake Your red cup rolled in Fruity Pebbles will be filled with quite a process! A creamy strawberry milkshake is topped with a strawberry cupcake and sponge cake. Those sweet treats are then topped with fresh whipped cream, more strawberries and a strawberry lollipop.

Strawberry Milkshakes Made with fresh strawberries, milk and maybe a little sugar, it’s the best way to cool off during a warm Festival day.

Florida Strawberry Growers Association Strawberry Production Display and “Ask A Farmer” Display

See first-hand the contrast in how strawberries were grown years ago and how they are cultivated today. This exhibit includes artifacts from days of old, agricultural equipment and an actual field of strawberries being grown – all to give Festival visitors an understanding about how one of Florida’s sweetest crops is grown today. Located right outside the Publix Showcase Tent.

Meet and Greet Opportunities

Mr. Berry and Miss. Berry, the Florida Strawberry Festival’s official mascots, love meeting our guests and having their picture taken! There is no better way to commemorate your visit to the Festival than by getting a picture with THE berry best! Mr. and Miss Berry Meet and Greets take place each day at 11:00 a.m., 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. in the Orthotic Works gazebo next to the Red Lost and Found Caboose. No official Festival photos will be available, so make sure you bring your phone or camera!

Deep-Fried Strawberry Shortcake On-a-Stick Relay, Thursday, February 29 at 2 p.m., Stingray Chevrolet Entertainment Pavilion Come see teams of four compete in the Deep-Fried Strawberry Shortcake On-a-Stick Relay. The Deep-Fried Strawberry Shortcake On-a-Stick Relay is sponsored by George’s Fun Foods. 

Youth Strawberry Stemming Contest: Saturday, March 2, 2 p.m. (registration begins at 1:30 p.m.), Stingray Chevrolet Entertainment Pavilion.

Youngsters of all ages compete to see who can remove the stems from 20 berries the fastest. The Youth Strawberry Stemming Contest is sponsored by Mavric’s Chocolate Barn.

Strawberry Spaghetti Eating Contest: Monday, March 4, 5 p.m. (registration begins at 1:30 p.m.), Stingray Chevrolet Entertainment Pavilion.

Competitors are challenged to eat one bowl of spaghetti topped with our favorite – a strawberry. The Strawberry Spaghetti Eating Contest is sponsored by Spaghetti Eddie’s.

Adult Strawberry Stemming Contest: Tuesday, March 5,  2 p.m., Stingray Chevrolet Entertainment Pavilion.

Adult visitors of all ages compete to see who can remove the stems from 25 berries the fastest. The Adult Strawberry Stemming Contest is sponsored by Chocolate Strawberry Express.

Strawberry Shortcake Eating Contest: Thursday, March 7, 2:00 p.m., Stingray Chevrolet Entertainment Pavilion.

Brave competitors compete to see who can eat a 4-lb. (No, your eyes aren’t deceiving you…we said 4 lbs.) strawberry shortcake in 10 minutes. Once they hit the 8-minute mark, their spoons are taken away just to make things a little more interesting. Oh yeah, the winner is awarded a trophy with a pig on top. The Strawberry Shortcake Eating Contest is sponsored by St. Clement “Make Your Own” Shortcake Booth.

Strawberry Mashed Potato Pie Eating Contest: Friday, March 8,  3 p.m., Stingray Chevrolet Entertainment Pavilion.

Competitors are challenged with eating one plate of garlic mashed potatoes (topped with strawberry glaze and a fresh strawberry, of course) in under 10 minutes. The Strawberry Mashed Potato Pie Eating Contest is sponsored by Pickle Barrel Sirloin Tips.

Spinning Strawberries
